How to maintain skin tone and turgor, make it moisturized and elastic?

If weight loss and achieving a toned body are more or less understood by everyone, the question of how to care for the skin remains open for many. How to maintain skin tone and turgor, make it moisturized and elastic?

Should you take supplements or are they useless? Even many specialists disagree on this. I decided to delve into this and many other questions related to preserving youth, beauty, and health, by gaining education in the field of functional medicine. So, after reviewing many studies, I can conclude that there is indeed a point in taking supplements for the skin. But let’s go through everything step by step.

The first thing to remember is that loss of skin turgor, reduced elasticity, and firmness are primarily associated with a lack of adequate protein in the body. Hair and nails also suffer due to protein deficiency. “Adequate protein” means that your diet contains a proper proportion of all ten essential amino acids. Therefore, pay attention to your diet and ensure you’re getting enough of the right kind of protein.

Collagen is synthesized in our bodies when we consume protein – it’s the main component of connective tissue, comprising 25 to 45% of all proteins in the body.

Do you always consume enough complete protein? Not necessarily. To further support your body, it makes sense to consume collagen. But there’s a very important point that many people don’t know. Collagen is an incomplete protein. If your body doesn’t have all the essential amino acids at the time you take collagen, it simply won’t work.
Therefore, I highly recommend taking collagen not on its own, but with a complete amino acid profile (BCAA). I choose BCAA Zero without artificial colors. BCAA consists of three essential amino acids: L-Leucine, L-Isoleucine, and L-Valine. There are a total of 8 essential and one conditionally essential amino acid.

But that’s not all. Few people know that well-known glucosamine and chondroitin sulfates stimulate the synthesis of hyaluronic acid and contribute to collagen production in the body. In addition, they have chondroprotective, anti-inflammatory, oncoprotective, cardio and neuroprotective effects, as well as improving synthesis, reducing cartilage degradation, and supporting antibacterial and antiviral immunity.

So, here are the supplements I take for my skin:

– Liquid collagen Collagen Peptides + Biotin by MST (contains vitamin C in the composition)
– BCAA Zero in powder form – (5 grams of BCAA per serving)
– Glucosamine-Chondroitin-MSM with L-Proline and hyaluronic acid (all in one supplement). It’s important to note the concentration of all active ingredients and the dosage.

Note that vitamin C deficiency disrupts collagen synthesis at the earliest stage. Therefore, if you lack this vitamin, you can add its tablet form to your intake.

Wishing everyone health and youthful, beautiful, and firm skin!
